| Abstract

| [Objective] To research the obesity-reducing effect of Caoju Yin asso ciated with high fiber diet on children’s simple obesity. [Methods] One hund red and seventeen cases with simple obesity in school-age children were randomly divided into observation group(n=64) and control group(n=53).There was no other demand on food intake and frequency at home. Three tablets of high fiber diet were administered in children of both groups,and 500 mL of Caoju Yin was given to children of observation groups additionally. [Results] The intake of food and total quantity of heat were reduced significantly after treatment for 15 days in observation group,the hunger sense was obviously alleviated,the defecation was increased (P<0.001) body weight,fat percentage,body weight index were all de creased significantly(P<0.01). [Conclusion] The associated treatment of Caoju Yin and high fiber diet has better obesity-reducing effect without any side effects in treating children’s simple obesity. The occurrence of children’s simple obesity is related with fat content in food,indicating better absorption ability and constipation may be one of the causes of children’s simple obesity. |
