Abstract
[Objective] To observe the impact of Borneolum Syntheticum on the cytochrome oxidase P450(CYP450) of liver and the expression of its subgroup CYPA3 mRNA in rat.[Methods] Borneolum Syntheticum was given orally to Wistar rats for 7days.Liver microsome was separated with calcium carbonate precipitation and CYP450 enzyme content was measured with ultraviolet spectrophotometry. The expression of CYP3A1 mRNA was detected with Real-time quantitative RT-PCR.[Results] 0.3 g/kg but 0.03 g/kg of Synthetic Borneol could increase the content of CYP450 enzyme in rat liver(P<0.05),and upregulate the expression of the CYP3A1 mRNA(P<0.05).[Conclusion] High dose of Synthetic Borneol may affect the metabolism of medicine in liver.
