Abstract
    What does the brain take charge remains indetifinite thus far.The viewpoint of "brain takes charge of viscus and does not nourish it" is suggested in this article.1)It is emphasized that the brain was the mansion of mind,having a dominant effect on the body.The brain was the source and material basis of mind,intelligence and thoughts.2)The physiologic action of brain is discussed through the relationship between five viscera,five sense organs and brain.3)The brain plays dominant role in the life activity.Therefore the brain can’t be damaged in any aspects.4)The relationship between brain and heart is discussed from the knowledge of physiology and pathology.The research of brain in TCM has provided a theoretic basis for treating the diseases of brain-cardiac stroke and heart-cerebral stroke.
