Abstract
The collateral puncture pricking blood therapy or Blood.letting therapy was one of the traditional acupuncture methods.The basis of this therapy was found in "Yellow Emperor’s Canon of Internal Medicine" and many specialists studied and developed the theory and method of collateral puncture afterwards.It developed in Japan as well as in China.Japanese style of it was mainly influenced by China.But it also adopted western medicine,especially the Dutch medicine in the Edo period.At first,I would introduce the theory and characteristic of collateral puncture in Japan and China.Finally,a viewpoint to combine the Japanese theory and method with Chinese theory and method.would be proposed.
