Abstract
[Objective] We advocate using both strengthening the body resistance early and activating blood circulation and removing stasis for treating rheumatoid arthritis(RA)with putting emphasis on clearing away heat-toxin in RA with damp-heat blocking collaterals and observe the curative effect and adverse effect.[Methods] Fifty patients with RA were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. The treatment group was administrated with tablet of polyglucoside of Radix Tripteryglli Wilfordii,Biqi capsule and Qingbi(clearing away arthralgia)tablet. The control group was administrated with voltaren, methopterin and sulphasalazine. The safety was observed during treatment and evaluate the clinical curative periodically.[Result] The treatment group began to be effective from the fourth week after treatment. The total effective rate of treatment group was 56% and that in control group was 80% with no obvious difference between them(P>0.05).The total effective rate of treatment group was 4% and 88% respectively in the twelfth and twenty-fourth week and that in control group was respectively 88% and 92% respectively. There wasn’t obvious difference between them(P>0.05).The rate of adverse effect rate in treatment group was 12% and that of control group was 36%.There was a significant difference between these groups(P<0.05).[Conclusion] The combined treating with traditional Chinese medicines has similar effect to Western medicine in treating RA with less adverse effects, suggesting that the treating is safe and effective.
