Abstract
|
[Objective] To observe the influence of acupuncture on the level of serum IL-2 and TNF-α in rats with chronic fatigue syndrome(CFS). [Methods] The CFS rats model was established by chronic bondage and swimming in cool water. The selected rats were randomly divided into four groups: normal group, model group, acupuncture group and panaxoside group. In acupuncture group, Baihui point, Shenshu point and Housanli point were selected. The acupuncture point was pricked once a day. In panaxoside group, panaxoside solution (70 mg/(kg·d)) was infused into the stomach of rats once a day. The rats in normal group and model group were only caught and grasped at the same time interval and degree with the treatment group. Two weeks after treatment, the rats were killed by head-dislocation and serum was harvested. The level of serum IL-2 and TNF-α was determined by radio-immunological analysis. [Results] The level of serum IL-2 and TNF-α was significantly decreased, and it was obviously increased after acupuncture treatment. [Conclusions] The acupuncture may increase the level of serum IL-2 and TNF-α in rats with CFS. This action may be one of the mechanisms of acupuncture in treating CFS. |
