Abstract

[Objective] To observe the effect of acupuncture on the automatic rhythmicity in microvasculature of cerebral pia mater in rats with local infarction. [Methods] The model of local brain infarction with middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO) was used and the method of fluorescence staining of vascular endothelial cells was applied. With videomicroscopy and image-analyzed system of computer the effect of acupuncture on the automatic rhythmicity of microvasculature, including frequency and amplitude, in cerebral pia mater was observed dynamically 3, 6 and 24 hours after MCAO. [Results] 3, 6, 24 hours after MACO, a disturbance of the automatic rhythmicity in cerebral pia mater of ischemia region, appeared as high frequency and low amplitude, was observed. In the acupuncture group, however, the frequency decreased obviously and the amplitude increased in a certain degree. [Conclusions] Acupuncture can improve the cerebral microcirculation. |
