| [Objective] To introduce the clinical effect in treating encephalopathy mainly with Xingnao Kaiqiao(restoring consciousness and waking up the patient from unconsciousness)acupuncture.[Methods] Neiguan(P6),Renzhong(GV26),Sanyinjiao(SP6),Jiquan(H1),Chize(L5),Weizhong(B40),Fengchi(G20),Wangu(G12),and Tianzhu(B10)were adopted as the main points.At first,the bilateral Neiguan were acupunctured straightly with a depth of 1.65～3.33 cm using holding and twisting,lifting and thrusting and reduction in acupuncture methods for 1 min.Then acupuncture on Renzhong was followed using oblique direction to column of nose into 0.99～1.65 cm using bid-peck needling and reduction in acupuncture method until the eyeball became moist or weeping.Sanyinjiao was acupunctured at an angle of 45 degree into 3.30～4.95 cm using lifting and thrusting and replenishing method until the lower extremity vellicated for three times.The point 2 cun(proportional unit of the body)below Jiquan was acupunctured into 3.30～4.95 cm using lifting and thrusting and reduction method until the sick upper extremity vellicated for three times.Chize at a tortuous elbow position was acupuncture in an angle of 120 degrees straightly into 3.3 cm using lifting and thrusting and reduction methods until the patient’s upper arm and their fingers vellicated for three times.Weizhong was acupunctured at a supine position with rectus and high leveled of extremity straightly into 3.3 cm using lifting and thrusting and reduction methods until the lower extremity vellicated for three times.Fengchi,Tianzhu and Yifeng(TE 17)were acupunctured in a direction to laryngeal protuberance into 6.60～8.75 cm using holding and twisting and replenishing methods with lower amplitude and high frequency 1 min.A patient with post-traumatic syndrome,one with complication after carbon monoxide poisoning,one with progressive paralysis of medulla oblongata and one with dorsal and external syndrome of medulla oblongata were treated with this therapy.[Results] All the four patients made complete recovery.[Conclusions] Xingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture can widely used,has brilliant therapeutic effect and is worthy of further investigation. |
