Clinical effect of acupuncture in preventing and treating migraine in 59 cases

Abstract
    [Objective] To observe the treatment effect of acupuncture in preventing and treating migraine.[Methods] The shuaigu(G8),touwei(S8),taiyang(EX-HN),fengchi(G20) were punctured as the main point of treatment with syndrome differentiation for selecting the point in 59 patients.The migraine disability evaluation (MIDAS) was carried out before treatment,3 and 6 months after treatment to observe the change of the pain extent of migraine.[Results] The MIDAS evaluation was obviously improved 3 or 6 months after treatment as compared with that before treatment(P<0.01).There was no difference of MIDAS evaluation between 3 months or 6 months after treatment (P>0.05).[Conclusions] The symptoms of migraine are obviously improved three months and six months after treatment.The acupuncture treatment has a better effect on preventing and treating the migraine.
