| [Objective] To determine the activity of twenty kinds of Chinese herbal medicine in eliminating free radical and to screen out the powerful Chinese herbal medicine.[Methods] The alcohol and water extract solution with ultrasound were obtained.The ability of each extract for eliminating free radical was determined by using DPPH method.[Results] The water extract of honeysuckble,hawthorn,rhubarb and chrysanthemum had a powerful activity of eliminating free radical.The alcohol extract of honeysuckble,scutellaria,lotus leaf,ephedra,rhubarb and chrysanthemum had a powerful activity of eliminating free radical also.[Conclusions] The water or alcohol extract of some Chinese herbal medicines has powerful ability to eliminate oxygen free radical. |
