Abstract
|
[Objective] To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of the traditional Chinese medicine in treating vascular dementia systematically. [Methods] Correlative articles were searched by internet and manually. Using the method described in the Cochrane Reviewer’s Handbook 4.2.2 the quality of the articles and the analysis of the data were performed. [Results] 14 researches were brought into this investigation and the Jadad score estimation was carried out. Meta analysis was performed with RevMan4.2. We found that the Chinese medicine could improve the score of the syndrome of TCM and activities of daily living Scale (ADL) but not the scores of Mini-Mental State Examination Scale (MMSE) of the patients. [Conclusions] The evidences of therapeutic effects and safety of Chinese medicine in treating vascular dementia are still not sufficient. The articles of randomized and with controlled trial, reasonably designed, strictly carried out and obtained from multi-centers with large samples are needed. |
