Abstract
[Objective] To observe the clinical effect of Yiqihuoxuehuatan (promoting circulation of qi and blood and dispersing phlegm) method in treating patients with unstable angina (UA) and discuss the effect mechanism. [Methods] The prospective, randomized controlled study was conducted in 60 selected patients with UA. They were randomly assigned to the treated group and controlled group. The course of treatment was four weeks. The frequency of angina pectoris, the amplitude of ischemic depressed ST segment of EKG and the changes of the concentration of ET-1 and CRP were observed. [Results] After treatment, the frequency of angina pectoris and the result of EKG and the concentration of ET-1 and CRP in the treated group were improved significantly when compared with that in the control group (P<0.05). The frequency of angina pectoris after treatment in both groups were reduced significantly (P<0.05). The result of EKG and the concentration of ET-1 and CRP in the treated group after treatment were improved significantly while that in the control groups was not improved obviously (P>0.05). [Conclusions] The method of promoting circulation of qi and blood and dispersing phlegm can obviously improve the clinical condition of patients with UA and reduce the concentration of ET-1 and CRP.
