Abstract

LI Dong-yuan indicated that deficiency of spleen-qi and stomach-qi and insufficiency of primordial qi may induce the generation of yin-fire internally and propose the treatment principal that sweet and warm tastes may strengthen the middle warmer and invigorate spleen yang,sweet and cold tastes may purge pathogenic fire. Buzhongyiqi (invigorating the spleen and replenishing QI) prescription was the representative prescription of the method of relieving fever with drugs of sweet flavor and warm nature. The concept of yin-fire,way the internal yin-fire can be induced due to deficiency of spleen-qi and stomach-qi and insufficiency of primordial qi and the relation of yin-fire and deficiency of spleen-qi and stomach-qi were explained. Buzhongyiqi essentially strengthened the healthy qi to eliminate the pathogens and reflected the important sense of whole body treatment in TCM. |
