Abstract
[Objective] To observe the in vitro antibacterial activity of Forsythia suspensa against Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis. [Methods] Detection of in vitro antibacterial activity of Forstythia suspensa against Staphylococcus aureus (84 strains) and Staphylococcus epidermidis (140 strains)were performed by new method (replace nutrient agar with Mueller-Hinton agar). [Results] The MIC50 of Forsythia suspensa Vahl against S.aureus and S.epidermidis was 0.122 g/L,and the MIC90 0.98 g/L and 0.244 g/L respectively. [Conclusions] The results show that in vitro antibacterial efficiency of Forsythia suspensa Vahl against S. aureus and S.epidermidis is better.
