Abstract
[Objective] To select the natural plants with strong UV absorption effect at the wavelength range of 200~400 nm. [Methods] Both 70% ethanol and water was taken as solvent to detect this effect by Ultrasonic extraction and UV spectrophotometry. [Results] Extract from 35 kinds of natural plants with concentration of 50 g/L had strong UV absorption effect. Alcohol extraction of Licorice, Honeysuckle, Safflower and water extract of Baicalin at concentration of 0.000 5 g/ml had strong UV absorption effect in the whole UV range. [Conclusions] All Licorice, Honeysuckle, Safflower and Baicalin have strong absorption effect in three bands of A, B, C of the whole UV range and have good sunscreen effect.
