| Abstract

| [Objective] To investigate the effect of Xinshenyihao tablet on the expression of Bcl-2 and Bax in rats with stress-induced gastric ulcer.[Methods] Sixty Wistar rats were randomly divided into six groups: control group,model group,Western medicine group and Xinshenyihao groups(high,middle and low dosage).The rats were exposed to water immersion-restraint stress for 12 hours.The expression of Bcl-2 and Bax proteins was examined with immunohistochemistry.[Results] Bcl-2 and Bax proteins were sporadically expressed in the gastric mucosa of blank group.The number of Bcl-2 positive cells in Xinshenyihao groups was significantly more than those in model group(P<0.01).The number of Bax positive cells in the model group were significantly more than those in Xinshenyihao groups(P<0.01) and Bax positive cells were significantly more than Bcl-2 positive cells in both groups(P<0.01).[Conclusions] The traditional Chinese medicine Xinshenyihao tablet can enhance the expression of Bcl-2 and reduce the expression of bax.This effect may be one of its mechanism. |
