| [Objective] To screen the part of Periploca Sepium Bge.(PSBF) with antitumor activity.[Methods] The extract of Periploca Sepium Bge.with 60% ethanol was treated in the way of macroporous adsorptive resins column chromatography to afford different fractions.The antitumor activities of the different fractions in vitro were determined by MTT assay.[Results] The 70% ethanol elution(PSBF-C) showed strong inhibitory effect on growth of cancer cells with significant dosage-dependence.The 95% ethanol elution(PSBF-D) showed low antitumor activity in vitro.And the most sensitive tumor cell lines to PSBF-C and PSBF-D were human hepatocellular carcinoma SMMC-7721 cell line.Whereas the fraction of 20% ethanol/H2O elution showed no antitumor activity.[Conclusions] The extract of 70% ehanol elution was the principal antitumor fraction from Periploca Sepium Bge. |
