Abstract
    This paper presents discussions on the effect of the theories of jing-qi-vitality in traditional Chinese medicine and Chinese ancient philosophy on establishing the theory of body constitution in traditional Chinese medicine.The author holds that the body essence is fundamental and basic on establishing the individual body constitution.And the body qi in the body constitution process of formation and transformation plays an extremely important role. Ancient philosophy of the theories of jing-qi-vitality is that the holism concept of the ideological foundation for building in traditional Chinese medicine. Natural and social environment are of important significance in human individuals or groups on the formation and transformation of physique also an important influence.
