| [Objective] To observe the clinical effect of HuaYu JiangZhuo Mixture (resolving blood stasis and descending the turbid, HYJZM) on glycolipid metabolism in patients with metabolic syndrome (MS). [Methods] Seventy patients with MS who met with defined criteria were randomly divided into two groups: HYJZM-treated group and Western medicine-treated group. Patients in both groups were treated with HYJZM or Rosiglitazone for 12 weeks. Clinical symptom integral, plasma glucose, blood lipid, blood pressure and side-effects were observed before and after treatment in two groups. [Results] The clinical manifestation of HYJZM-treated group was improved significantly. Hyperglycemia and lipid metabolism disturbance were improved in both groups and there was no statistical significance between these two groups. Blood pressure in both groups was slightly lowered. Pulse pressure was decreased in HYJZM-treated group. No obvious adverse reaction and side effect were observed in HYJZM-treated group. [Conclusion] HYJZM can alleviate glycolipid metabolism disturbance in patients with metabolic syndrome. |
