Abstract
|
[Objective] To observe the curative effects of the Xingnaosan (powder of restoring consciousness, XNS) in treating Senile Dementia. The main function of XNS was to open sweat pores, circulate fluid in body, expel turbid urine and remove poisonous substances. [Methods] The choosing of senile dementia cases was based on the diagnostic standards of ASM-Ⅲ and ICD-10. The patients of two groups were selected randomly: the study group was treated with XNS for two to three treatment periods; the control group was treated by huperzine A. The general curative effects and the curative effects before and after treatment of both groups were evaluated by MMSE, ADL and HDS scale.[Results] According to the grading of MMSE, the effective rate of the treatment group was 88.1% while that of control group was 91.4%. There wasn’t obvious difference between the patients of two groups (P>0.05). Both the MMSE and HDS integrals before and after treatment were increased dramatically (P<0.01); the ADL integrals was decreased dramatically (P<0.01); but there wasn’t obvious difference between groups (P>0.05). [Conclusion] XNS has reliable effects in treating senile dementia. It is worthy of further exploring. |
