| Abstract

| [Objective] To investigate the distribution characteristics of TCM syndromes and syndrome essence in literatures in patients with premenstrual syndrome.[Methods] On the basis of the comprehensive literature search about premenstrual syndrome in the past 20 years more,the correspond literatures with enrrolled criteria were selected and the appearance frequency of TCM syndromes and syndrome essence were analyzed. [Results] 67 syndromes were obtained after the initial standardization, the syndrome with more than 5 times of appearance frequency in turn was stagnation of the liver qi, qi stagnation and blood stasis, hyperactivity of fire due to yin deficiency. These syndromes were classified into syndrome essence of diseae locations and disease kind. There were 9 syndrome essence of diseae locations. The location with appearance frequency more than 10% was liver, kidney and spleen. There were 21 syndrome essence of diseae kind, and they were qi-stagnation, fire and yin-deficiency with frequency more than 10%.[Conclusion] Presently, the TCM syndrome types in patients with premenstrual syndrome was still rather complicated. Introducing the concept of "Syndrome essence" can regulate and unify the clinical syndrome differentiation better. |
