Abstract
    ZHANG Zhong-jing firstly introduced the theory of pyretic invasion of uterus in Han Dynasty. Later generations further developed the awareness about it on the basis of Synopsis of prescriptions of the Golden Chamber and Treatise on Febrile Diseases, and established all kinds of theories from a number of different perspectives. The most controversial problem was what the "blood chamber" was. From literatures of Han, We realized that the blood chamber was uterus. Its physiologic function was closely connected with the Chongpulse and liver. This article explored the etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment about the pyretic invasion of uterus. So the disease of the pyretic invasion of uterus belonged to an acute pelvic inflammatory disease and puerperal fever in modern medicine.
