Abstract
[Objective] To study the effect of Jiajianbufei(modified decoction for tonifying the lung) decoction on TNF-a and IL-8 of bron-choalveolar lavage fluid in COPD rats with deficiency of lung-qi and to explore the mechanism of it in treating deficiency of lung-qi of COPD rats. [Methods] Deficiency of lung-qi of COPD in rats was established by using smudging and caroid aerosol rebreathing method. One hundred rats were randomly divided into five groups:normal group, model group, high dosage of Jiajianbufei decoction group, low dosage of Jiajianbufei decoction group, Guilong group. The changes of bronchus and lung tissue pathology were examined with light mi-croscope and the TNF-a and IL-8 level in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid was determined. [Results] Compared to normal control group, the inflammatory cell infiltration of bronchus lumina in model group was increased, the cilium conglutination, lodging and desquamation, alveolus expanding and quantity decreased. The TNF-a and IL-8 level of bronchoalveolar lavage fluid in model group were arisen as high expression. The change of treatment group was obviously improved and that of high dosage of Jiajianbufei decoction group was the most significant (P<0.01). [Conclusion] Jiajianbufei decoction may relief airway inflammation and has a definite curative effect on COPD rats with deficiency of lung-qi.
