| [Objective] To explore the effective and convenient method in acupuncture and moxibustion therapy for treating peripheral facial paralysis, to evaluate the curative effect of acupuncture combined with acupoint and intramuscular injection.[Methods] The therapeutic data in acupuncture therapy combined with acupoint injection in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were collected according tothe evaluation method of Cochrane library.RevMan4.2.8 software was employed for statistics analysis.[Results] Three related literaturesmet with the standards. There were altogether 202 cases.Meta-analysis showed that the total effect of both therapeutic methods was:RR=1.13, 95% CI was 1.00, 1.29, P=0.06 and no difference in statistics was noted.[Conclusion] Acupunture with acupoint and intramuscularinjection probably have the equivalent effect in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis suggesting that the clinical operations and pa-tients’ compliance can be enhanced. But the quality and quantity of literatures were inferior, so these conclusions need to be interpretedcarefully. |
