Abstract
|
The application of acupuncture in aborting fetus was recorded in many ancient classics in TCM, in which"Hegu"and"Sany-injiao"were the most frequently mentioned. The aborting mechanisms of reinforcing"Hegu"and purgation of"Sanyinjiao"was as follow:firstly, purgation of"Sanyinjiao"can purge the Yin blood from the liver, while reinforcing"Hegu"can supply Qi.These can make thewoman in a state of excessive Qi and insufficient blood, which may be adverse to the growth of fetal origin and thus result in abortion.Secondly, the purgation of"Sanyinjiao"will lead to disorder of chong and ren meridians and the fetus will lose its nourishment;the reinforce-ment of"Hegu"will promote the circulation of Qi and cause the fetus to go descending till miscarriage.Thirdly, the purgation of"Sanyinjiao"will result in the dysfunction of liver, spleen and kidney and the insecurity of fetal origin;the reinforcing"Hegu"can invigoratethe lung, which governs Qi.The excessive lowering of Qi may lead to abortion. |
