Abstract
|
[Objective] To discuss the pathogenesis of the impaired glucose toleration (IGT) in elder person in Western and Chinese medicine,to provide theoretic reference and therapeutic evidence for prevention and treatment of it and to reduce the rate of incidence of diabete in elder person. [Methods] According to the pathogenesis of IGT and guided by Chinese theory combined with microscopic knowledge in Western medicine the pathogenesis of IGT in elder person was analyzed. [Results] The essence of the pathogenesis was that the origen in IGT in TCM was deficiency of spleen and kidney and the superficiality was phlegm combined with dyspepsia. In Western medicine, the main pathogenic mechanism was insulin resistance and the defect of β cell. [Conclusion] The treatment of IGT in elder person can be analyzed from deficiency and excess and superficiality and origin in TCM and a new way for treating should be established by using Western medicine clinically. |
