Analysis of acne occurrence rate and mental factors in students of Tianjin College |

Abstract
|
[Objective] To understand the prevalence of the current situation of facial acne vulgaris in Tianjin college students and analyze the related risk factors. [Methods] From September to November in 2008 we conducted a cross-sectional survey on the occurrence of acne grades in the studying students of Tianjin at 2006-2008. [Results] 1 709 cases were investigated, which constituted of 610 men (35.69%)and 1 099 women (64.31%). 830 cases were suffering from acne vulgaris and the total occurring rate was 48.57%, including man (42.46%) and the woman (51.96%). Differences in occurrence rates between man and woman was statistically significant (χ2 = 14.164 6, P = 0.000 2). According to the Adolescence Life Event Scale, the scores of various factors and the total scores between disease group and control group were no statistically significant. According to the Social Avoidance and Distress Scale, the avoid scores、anxiety scores and the total scores between disease group and control group were statistically significant. [Conclusions] Acne is a common and frequentlyoccurring disease in college students in Tianjin. All kinds of pressures were not risk factors leading to the acne, but the acne will affect social behavior and distressed state of the students. |
