Abstract
[Objective] Taking bone-length measurement as the golden standard, the accuracy of taking middle finger as an identical init on acupoint localization was compared. [Methods] Sixty more of sound student or patients were chosen. Taking cm as the unit the length of 3 kinds of fingers as an identical unit and the length of bone-length measurement were measured. The length of bone-length measurement was measured with the length of each finger as an identical unit again respectively. The obtained length was compared with the length established with bone-length measurement again. Then the difference of inch was harvested. [Results] 1)There was a difference between both methods. 2)The distance from navel to upper border of pubis junction measured with 3 kinds of finger methods was all more than the fixed 5 inches. 3)The distance from mucro sterni junction to navel, between two papillae, from interior border of omoplata to post-middle line, from elbow striated streak to wrist striated streak, from poples striated streak to external malleolus fastigium was measured and compared with the fixed inch number. Sometimes it was longer and sometimes shorter with a two-dimensional fluctuation. [Conclusion] 1)There were some errors in acupoint location with finger method but the average difference was small mostly and the vari-able degree was small also. 2)It can still be used when location of the acupoint at the two sides of bone-length measurement.(such as lo-calizing acupoint near the elbow, wrist, knee, the ankle part:Neiguan,Zusanli,Xuanzhong,Sanyinjiao etc. 3)When using finger method to localize the middle acupoint of bone-length measurement (upper and lower Juxu,Tiaokou and Sanyinjiao),the measurement should be started from one side of bone-length measurement. The errors will be accumulated when the measurement achieved at the middle position. At this time the finger method should be used under correction with bone-length measurement. 4)The acupoint localization should be mainly performed with bone-length measurement, localization method with the index of body surface, and the simple localization method.
