| Abstract
|
| [Objective] To observe the effect of Ginkgo biloba extract EGB761 on liver weight and morphology in hypercholesterolemia rabbits. [Methods] The hypercholesterolemia in rabbit was induced by refer to D. Larry Sparks’methods. EGB761 was used to treat the rabbits at a dose of 50mg/kg/d and simvastatin, 5mg/kg/d, as a positive control drug. The index of liver and body was evaluated and the morphological changes of the liver were observed. [Results] Ginkgo biloba extract EGB761 could effectively reduce the liver body index (P<0.01) without significant difference compared to the effect of positive drug simvastatin (P>0.05). General and the microscope morphological observations found that EGB761 could effectively change the general form of fatty degeneration of the liver and histological patterns. [Conclusion] Ginkgo biloba extract EGB761 can effectively prevent and treat fatty liver induced by hypercholesterolemia. |
