Abstract
|
[Objective] To perform the HPLC determination of the extract of peach kernel and semen armeniacae amarum for understanding the main component of them and to compare their toxicity. [Methods] The determination of HPLC on these two extracts was performed. Using guinea pig as the test animal and taking hypersensitive reaction as the criteria the toxicity experiment was finished. [Results] Both extracts of peach kernel and semen armeniacae amarum had the same appearance of amygdalin in HPLC. They also had some toxicity, including cough, spasm and death. The safe dosage, however, could be obtained as well, under which the test animal expressed without any discomfort. [Conclusion] The main ingredient of the extract of peach kernel and semen armeniacae amarum was amygdalin. They had some toxicity. Among them peach kernel was less than that of the other one. Under the safe dosage the test animals do not appear any toxic reaction. |
