Abstract
|
[Objective] To observe the influence of acupuncture on the content of IL-8 in brain and serum of the rats with focal cerebral ischemia.[Methods] One lateral of the middle cerebral artery was obstructed with the thermocoagulation method to induce focal cerebral ischemia. The content of IL-8 in the brain and serum was measured with radio-immunologic method.[Results] Compared with the sham operation group and the normal group, the content of IL-8 in the brain and serum increased significantly at each time point after ischemia in the model group (P<0.05,P<0.01).Compared with the model group,IL-8 was decreased significantly in the acupuncture group in brain at 6,12,24 and 48 hours (P<0.01) and in serum at 6,12 and 48 hours (P<0.05,P<0.01) after acupuncture treatment.[Conclusion] Acupuncture may protect the brain through inhibiting synthesis and secretion of IL-8 in the ischemic tissue regulating the content of IL-8 in serum and inhibiting adhesion and infiltration of inflammatory cells. |
