Abstract
|
[Objective] To study the method of extraction, isolation and purification for curcumins from Curcum longa.[Methods] The total curcumins were extracted by ethanol after washing by water and petroleum ether. The extract was defatted. The crude bisdemethoxycurcumin and the mixture of curcumin and demethoxycurcumin were separated by dry silica gel column chromatography. Then bisdemethoxycurcumin was purified by wet silica gel column chromatography.Using TLC and acetone-water recrystallization, separation of curcumin and demethoxycurcumin were complished.[Results] Melting points of curumin, demethoxycurcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin were 182~184℃,168~170℃ and 226~228℃ respectively. They all showed high content above 96% in HPLC chromatograph during three times of retention time.[Conclusion] The method of extraction and purification for curumin, demethoxycurcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin was simple and efficient. |
