| Abstract

| [Objective] To observe the effect of "Xingnao decoction" per rectum infusion and the Western medicine only in treating delayed encephalopathy after carbon monoxide poisoning.[Methods] Herbal Xingnao decoction was used to treat patients per rectum infusion combined with intravenous Western medicine to treat the delayed encephalopathy after acute CO poisoning.The effect of Thirty-five patients(treatment group),and thirty-five in conventional Western medicine group(control group) was compared.[Results] The total effective rate in treatment group compared with control group was significantly increased and the average length of stay in hospital was shorter than the control group(P<0.05),before and after treatment the difference of AAMD and MMSE score between these two groups was significant(P<0.01).[Conclusion] Chinese medicine "Xingnao soup" per rectal infusion was simple in procedure and the preparation can be modified with symptom.In saving patients the effect was quick,convenient with obvious efficacy.It provided a new method and new preparation of Chinese medicine in saving delayed encephalopathy after CO poisoning. |
