Abstract
The common cold was a common clinical disease, its onset always starts with the invasion of exogenous pathogenic factors to the lung. The therapeutic method therefore should relieve the external syndromes by dispersing the exogenous pathogenic factors in the lung.Nonetheless, with the variation of the climate in different time of the year, people were susceptible to six different climatic exogenous pathogenic factors, resulting in different pulse patterns and syndromes.Hence, the therapeutic methods and drugs prescriptions must also be changed accordingly to different seasons. This was in line with the principal and characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine that treatment should be based on syndrome differentiation and the therapeutic measures should be applied by considering time, locality and individual condition of the patient.
