Abstract
|
[Objective] To observe the decocted quantity of the total glycosides of Radix Paeoniae ALba and benzoic acid when co-decocting with different compatibility of Radix Paeoniae Alba and Radix Bupleuri and to explore the influence the traditional compatibility of Radix Paeoniae Alba and Radix Bupleuri on the decocted quantity of the effective and harmful constituent.[Methods] Single Radix Paeoniae Alba,Radix Paeoniae Alba concomitant with Radix Bupleuri(1:1,1:2,2:1) were boiled with water.Direct isolation or isolation after being hydrolyzed were performed to determining the isolated benzoic acid and the total glycoside of the Radix Paeoniae Alba respectively with HPLC.[Results] The isolated quantity of benzoic acid was more decreased when co-decocting Radix Peaoniae Alba with Radix Bupleuri than single Radix Paeoniae Alba was decocted, however the extracted quantity of the total glycoside was not different.[Conclusion] The extracted quantity of benzoic acid,a harmful constituent, can be lowered significantly when Radix Paeoniae Alba was co-decocted with Radix Bupleuri than single Radix Paeoniae Alba was decocted. |
