The screening of frequently used herbs in Shi Shan Medical records and discussion on their dosage characteristics

Abstract
    Seventeen frequently used herbs were screened by studying the 92 prescriptions taken orally in Shi Shan Yi An and the dosage characteristics of these frequently used herbs were summarized.Among them the appearance frequency of the herbs enriching Qi was the highest and the dosages of this sort of herbs that enriching Qi are largest.Three distinct traits of WANG Ji choosing and using herbs were summarized.WANG Ji learned from LI Dongyuan and ZHU Danxi(two famous doctors in Jin and Yuan dynasty) and was good at using of ginseng and astragalus with large dosages;the herbs enrich Yin and remove heat in the body with the conservative dosages;the dosages of the adjuvants and meridian-lead-in drugs were used cautiously.
