Abstract
|
To illuminate the effect of pinellia tuber and tuckahoe in treating diabetes combined with gastric paresis with five prescriptions consisting of those two herbs cited from Synopsis of Golden Chamber. The following results have been proved by the modern pharmacological studies.Firstly, pinellia tuber could inhibit vomiting center;secondly, the derivatives of glucuronic acid in pinellia tuber were not only more effective than glucuronic acid in the antagonist effect of strychnine and acetylcholine, but also could enhance the peristaltic movement of gastrointestinal tract;thirdly, tuckahoe, which was rich in potassium, had obvious effects on the adjustment of autonomic nervous system and seemly related with the inhibitive function for reabsorption of renal tubules. The mechanism of the treating effects of pinellia tuber and tuckahoe for diabetic gastric paresis with main syndromes of nausea, vomiting, belching, distending abdomen and indigestion was probably relative to above mecahanisms. |
