Abstract
[Objective] To establish the mathematical model for comprehensive evaluating the effect of acupuncture in Wistar rat with middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAo), ascertain the weight coefficients of indexes, compare the influence on the weight coefficients of indexes by acupuncture, and preliminarily explore the possible mechanism of acupuncture treatment for the cerebral infarction.[Methods] Using the concept of “negative-index”, the multi-element statistical analyses (such as the principal component analysis, factor analysis, etc.) were applied by SPSS18.0 to establish the mathematical model for comprehensive evaluating the effect of acupuncture. [Results] The statistic F in the mathematical model of the comprehensive evaluating the effect of acupuncture was established in rat with MCAo, the weight coefficient of each index ascertained, the statistic F was then formed: in microcirculation index, the caliber of afferent arteriole (A) and AV ratio value had the biggest influence on the comprehensive evaluation of acupuncture effect, the next was microvessel count, neutrocyte necrosis rate, …, the last one was infarction rate. [Conclusion] Through the mathematical model it is found that the possible mechanism of acupuncture treatment for cerebral infarction is to improve the cerebral microcirculation (properly expanding the caliber of afferent arteriole (A), enlarge AV ratio) and increase the microvessel count. It was pointed out that application of the mathematics model to express the essence of science is the only way for the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine. The establishment of the mathematics model of the comprehensive evaluating the effect of acupuncture could not only provide a new scientific research ideas and methods, but also lay a foundation for the further data analysis in the future.
