Abstract
Internationalizing has become the important tendency of the development of TCM in this century. Establishing legislation and giving legal status one after another to acupuncture and TCM in many countries is the obvious index of this improvement. Along with the trend are the issues like, the reform in the theory of TCM, herbal formulas, and clinical study; proceeding standardization in TCM and acupuncture; the attention for intellectual property protection; setting up and perfecting the frameworks that have brought the practice of TCM overseas; the reform of overseas education in acupuncture and TCM, and its exchange with China's local educational institutes; China as the cradle of acupuncture and TCM should carry forward the historical responsibility in the development of internationalization.
