| The common diseases due to counter flow of thoroughfare vessel of stomach and stomach Qi rising in reverse order included cerebral hyperemia,vomit,hematemesis,gasp syndrome,dysphagia,retrograde menstruation and so on.Zhang Xi-chun thought that the pathological foundations causing these diseases are deficiency of kidney,liver-fire,and weakness of stomach Qi etc.For treating them,therefore,he liked to apply herbs lowering adverse Qi combined with tonifying herbs.Ochre and pinellia ternate were commonly used by Zhang Xi-chun.He suggested that both herbs were effective herbs to suppress the counter flow of thoroughfare vessel and stomach Qi.The tonifying herbs can help to restore the normal physiology of Zang and Fu organs and treat the counter flow of thoroughfare vessel and stomach Qi fundamentally.Additionally,he also used the method of raising Qi to treat the disease such as retrograde menstruation. |
