Abstract
|
The conception of whole and theory of system are the important features of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Among them many original ideas are also contained. Under the guidelines of theory of restoration at first, a research on the kidneyYang deficiency syndrome and the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis has been performed. Recently, employing the methods of systemic biology some researches in the field of kidneydeficiency syndrome (taking aging rats as a model) have been tried. Kidney essence was the key concept in TCM. According to the results of deep exploration on the concept of kidney essence in TCM the theory of stem cells in the connotation of kidney essence is suggested. It is provided that the kidney essence and stem cells are correlated and the herbs with invigorating kidney and replenishing essence can activate the intrinsic stem cells. |
