Abstract
|
[Objective] To investigate the clinical effects of Weidong decoction (WDT) composed of Chen pi, Mu xiang, Zhi shi, Xiang fu in treating diabetic gastroparesis. [Methods] Sixty patients with diabetic gastroparesis were randomly assigned to 2 groups. The 30 patients in the treatment group were given with Chinese medicine decoction and the 30 patients in the control group with glucose-lowering treatment and metoclopramide. The clinical efficacy and the changes in level of gastric emptying rate were observed. [Results] WDT showed significant effects in improving clinical symptoms of patients, decreasing gastric emptying time, and was beneficial for controlling blood sugar. The curative rate and total effective rate in the treated group were 66.67% and 93.33% respectively, significantly different to those in the control group 36.66% and 63.33%(P<0.01). The levels of plasma motilin and serum gastrin were improved better in the treatment group than that in the control group(P<0.05). [Conclusion] WDT is effective in improving the level of gastrointestinal hormones, shortening gastric emptying time and releasing clinical symptoms. |
