Abstract
“Effective traditional Chinese medicine tastes bitter but benefits for treating illness” was a famous talking of the ancient wise person in teaching and taking things and was always a vivid comparison in applying traditional Chinese medicine. But this fact had surely limited the clinical application of the compound decoction of traditional Chinese medicine. However, through the choice of the time and method of drug administration and combining with the individual feeling of patients we can partly relieve the tasting matter of the compound decoction of traditional Chinese medicine. But the thinking of “effective drug tastes bitter” and “suitable for oral administration without uncomfortable feeling” needs further exploration.
