| Abstract

| [Objective] To observe the effect of Xuanbai Chengqi decoction in treating patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD) of phlegm-heat and FU-organ excess. [Methods] The 53 patients with AECOPD and phlegm-heat and FU-organ excess syndrome were randomly divided into two groups: control group and treatment group. The control group was given with Western routine treatment, while treatment group was treated with Xuanbai Chengqi decoction on the basis of Western general treatment. A course was 10 days and then the comprehensive clinical effect, blood analysis (PaCO2, PaO2), lung function and the changes of TCM syndrome were compared between two groups. [Results] The improvement of the comprehensive clinical effect, the reducing of PaCO2, the increasing of PaO2 and the improvement of TCM syndromes were better than that in the control group (P<0.05).[Conclusion] Xuan Baicheng Qi decoction can improve lung function of patients with AECOPD, and better results of blood gas analysis and syndrome of traditional Chinese medicine,improve the clinical efficacy. |
