Abstract
|
[Objective] To assess the effects of kidney-warming spleen-invigorating formula (KWSFF) in treating diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome(IBS). [Methods] One hundred and nineteen patients with diarrhea-predominant IBS were randomly divided in two groups: the control group and the treatment group. The treatment group received modified KWSFF based on symptoms, while the control group was given Bacillus subtilis enterococcus duplex viable enteric capsules orally. Four weeks was a course. Both of the two groups were treated for two courses and then the therapeutic effect was statistically analyzed. [Results] The total efficiency rate of treatment group was 88.3%, and that in the control group was 72.9%. Clinical efficacy of the treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.05). [Conclusion] KWSFF is a effective method in treating diarrhea-predominant IBS. |
