Study the effect of Xianji Huaban capsules on mast cell degranulation and histamine release

Abstract
    [Objective] To research the mechanism of Xianji Huaban capsules against hypersensitivity reaction, providing the foundation for later experiment and clinical treatment of allergic purpura. [Methods] By preparing the sensitization of rats and anti-egg protein in serum and giving different concentrations, we measured the skin blue spot diameter through the experimental of passive cutaneous anaphylaxis (PCA); then, we measured the degranulation percentage and the level of histamine release through the skull periosteum mast cells degranulation test and the mast cells release histamine test in rats. [Results] Xianji Huaban capsules could make the skin blue spot diameter smaller, decrease mast cells degranulation percentage, and reduce the release of histamine in a concentration dependent manner. [Conclusion] Xianji Huaban capsules have the effect against hypersensitivity reaction by inhibiting PCA, mast cells degranulation and histamine releasing.
