Determination of icariin content in Yishen granules by HPLC

Abstract
    [Objective] To establish a method to determine the content of icariin in Yishen granules. [Methods] Using the method of HPLC, the chromatographic column was the United States Waters C18 column (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 10 μm). The mobile phase was methyl cyanides-0.1% phosphoric acid solution (28:72). Velocity of flow rate was 1 mL/min. The detection wavelength was 270 nm, and column temperature was at room temperature. [Results] Icariin in 0.048 5~0.970 0 μg and chromatographic peak area had good linear relationship (r=0.999 9). The average recovery was 97%, RSD=0.7% (n=6). [Conclusion] The method is simple, specific, reproducible, and can be used for determination of icariin in Yishen granules.
