| The description of collateral was started in the Inner Classic, developed in the time of ZHANG Zhong-jing, matured in the time of YE Tian-shi. In Medical Records as a Guide to Clinical Work, the characteristics of syndrome-differentiated treatment and the rule of medication were systemically summarized for treating collateral disease, having outstanding contribution to the development of the basic theory of Chinese medicine. Combined with the knowledge of TCM etiology and pathogenesis of diabetic peripheral neuropathy, treatment with “Xinrun Tongluo method” brought up by YE Tian-shi in treating this disease has obtained a definite clinical curative effect. |
