Abstract
|
[Objective] To investigate the clinical effect of local application of Chinese medicine and Chinese medicine combined with corneal protective agent in treating dry eye. [Methods] Clinically diagnosed patients with dry eye were randomly divided into combined treatment group and Chinese medicine only group. The former was given Solcoseryl eye gel and Zhihuang eye drops and the latter was given Zhihuang eye drops only. The clinical symptoms in patients before and after treatment, breakup time tear film (BUT), tear secretion (Schirmer act) were observed. [Results] 1)The tear secretion before and after treatment were improved in both groups and without significant difference between them. 2)The breakup time tear film (BUT) before and after treatment improved in both groups, but more significant improvement was found in combined treatment group. 3)The total effective rate was 92.68% in combined treatment group and 73.17% in Chinese medicine group only with significant difference between these two groups. [Conclusion] Zhihuang eye drops can help patients with dry eye in increasing tear secretion as well as the breakup time tear film. It has no significant difference in improving patients' tear secretion in Zhihuang eye drops when compared with Zhihuang eye drops combined Solcoseryl. The effect of Zhihuang eye drops alone in improving BUT is worse than the combined treatment with Solcoseryl. |
