| Abstract

| [Objective] To study the best compatibility proportion of Bushen Huatan recipe, through studying the effect of Bushen Huatan prescription on reproduction, endocrine and glucose metabolism in rats with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS). [Methods] Kaohsiung method in pregnancy period was used to establish the model of PCOS in rats. Using the orthogonal experimental method the rats were divided into nine groups with 10 rats in each group. Continuous oral administration of Bushen Huatan recipe was performed for 20 days. Taking fasting insulin, glucose tolerance test (OGTT) , blood glucose, serum T as the index, the change of sex hormone and sugar metabolism were observed and the best compatibility proportion of Bushen Huatan recipe was determined. [Results] Effect of Atractylodes rhizome of 30 g, Tuckahoe of 30 g had an obvious greater effect on reducing the OGTT 0.5 h blood glucose than the other two doses. Effect of Epimedii of 30 g, Salvia Miltiorrhiza of 10 g has significant greater effect on lowering fasting insulin than the other two doses. [Conclusion] The best compatibility proportion of Bushen Huatan recipe is： Astragalus:Atractylodes:Tuckahoe:Epimedium:Salvia Miltiorrhiza at 5:3:3:3:1, namely Astragalus 50 g, Atractylodes 30 g, Tuckahoe 30 g, Epimedium 30 g, Salvia Miltiorrhiza 10 g. |
